Re "It's deal day for city on arena term sheet" (Our Region, March 20): I don't see a problem but an opportunity in the Sacramento versus Seattle struggle for the Kings.
NBA owners need look no further than the laws of supply and demand. It is clear that they have two proven markets for their product. Both cities are willing to build arenas, and both possess strong fan bases. The only thing holding back the Sacramento market has been the Maloofs, who are the worst kind of "small ball" owners who clearly can't play in the field of billionaires that NBA ownership requires.
Mayor Kevin Johnson, please carry this message to the NBA: Let us keep the Kings in Sacramento and give Seattle a franchise, too. This would set the conditions for an expansion team to be added in the East as well.
