Re "Possible norovirus outbreak is probed at eatery" (Our Region, March 20): This has been one of the most impressive seasons for norovirus that I have ever seen. Norovirus is incredibly contagious. It can be transmitted by aerosol droplets; if you are within four feet of someone, you can be sick the next day. It can survive 10 days on surfaces, and people can spread it after they feel better.
Ineffective hand washing or clean-up of places where hands have been, including shopping carts, increases the risk for spread. There is no doubt that this virus is burning through our town. We need to pause before we misplace judgment.
Please take the time to wash your hands, and use a paper towel to turn off the water and open that bathroom door. It will protect our community from norovirus, and the cold and flu as well.
