One person was killed and two were wounded during a shooting at a party in a Natomas apartment early Sunday morning.
Police received reports of a shooting and a large fight in the 2200 block of River Plaza Drive about 1:05 a.m. When they arrived, they found a black male in his 20s with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sacramento County Coroner's Office has yet to release his name.
A second shooting victim, a Latino male in his 30s, was taken to an area hospital with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries, reports said. His identity also was not released.
Detectives received information about a third victim later that day, said Michele Gigante, a Sacramento police spokeswoman.
"Later this morning, a female victim in her 20s admitted herself into an area hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to her lower extremity," Gigante said in a press release. "She is the third victim from the incident on River Plaza Drive. Homicide is still actively investigating the case."
The woman was treated and released from the hospital. Her name has not been released.
Police said it appears there was a large party in the apartment where the two men were found. Many people were seen fleeing from the area either on foot or in vehicles after the shootings.
Homicide detectives said there is no known motive at this time for the deadly shooting, and no arrests have been made.
Because there were many witnesses at the party, authorities are asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact Sacramento police at (916) 264-5471. Callers can remain anonymous and earn a reward of up to $1,000.
