Regional Digest: Henderson sets Cal softball record

Jolene Henderson (Sheldon High School) became the winningest pitcher in Cal softball history when the Bears beat Utah 4-1 on Sunday in a Pacific-12 Conference game in Berkeley.

The senior, who passed Michele Granger, has a career record of 120-26 with a 1.22 ERA and 1,016 strikeouts. Granger coaches at Granite Bay High School.

• Marina Demore threw a four-hit shutout as No. 24 Oregon State (22-5) earned a 1-0 victory over host UC Davis (13-14) in eight innings, UCD reported.

General

• Cael Brockmeyer hit a three-run homer in the 10th inning, lifting the Cal State Bakersfield baseball team (17-7, 2-1 Western Athletic Conference) to a 6-3 win over Sacramento State (13-10, 1-2), Sac State reported.

• Trailing 3-2, the Sac State men's tennis team (9-10) received three-set victories from Tom Miller and Marek Marksoo to claim a 4-3 victory over Loyola Marymount (2-13) in Los Angeles, according to Sac State's athletics website.

• Michelle Ho captured three individual championships while Katie Yamamura and Anna Shumaker claim- ed the top two spots in the all-around, helping UC Davis snare a fourth straight team title at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Gymnastics Championships on Saturday night in Seattle, according to UCD's athletics website. Yamamura captured her second straight Gymnast of the Year award, and UCD's John Lavallee won his fifth Coach of the Year honor.

• Sac State finished third at the WAC Women's Gymnastics Championships on Saturday night in Cedar City, Utah, the school reported on its athletics website.
