Published: Wednesday, Mar. 27, 2013 - 12:12 am | Page 3C

The Bee posse's weekly update of the latest in area conditions, bargains, etc.

Course What you need to know

Bing Maloney Really perked up for county four-ball; dry conditions have really helped

Empire Ranch Redoing bunkers on front nine

Haggin Oaks MacKenzie's greens took a major step forward in third week after punching

Rancho Solano Weekend pace can be brutal; tee to green, conditions near-perfect; greens, still recovering from early-March punching, will be tournament-ready in 10 days

Turkey Creek Greens firm and consistent; tees and fairways good, too, with rough cut back to make more friendly; bunkers have little rocks; pace of play a nice 41/2 hours

Wildhawk Fairways running out, greens as fast as they get a week before aerification

Wildhorse In excellent shape; greens hard/fast and putt well; fairways firm and lush; most bunkers in great shape; tall grass on edges has been manicured to speed play

Aerification report

Aerified last week: Ancil Hoffman, Davis, Haggin Oaks (Arcade Creek back nine), Lincoln Hills (Hills), Whitney Oaks

Aerified this week: Castle Oaks, Cordova, Lincoln Hills (Orchard), The Ridge, Teal Bend, Woodcreek

Scheduled to aerify next week: Antelope Greens, Apple Mountain, Bartley Cavanaugh, Catta Verdera, Empire Ranch, Mather, WildHawk
