The far left lanes of eastbound and westbound Interstate 80 between Dixon and Vacaville will be closed to traffic overnight Monday as the California Department of Transportation prepares for a major paving project.
The closure will allow crews to trim oleanders inside the media, according to a Caltrans news release. To ensure worker and public safety, the far left lane of westbound I-80 between Curry Road in Dixon and Midway Road in Vacaville will be closed from 7 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday. The far left eastbound lane will be closed from 10 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Motorists traveling through the area during those hours are advised to allow extra time.
The median work is in preparation for the I-80 Vacaville-Dixon rehabilitation project that is scheduled to start in mid-April and be completed in 2014. As part of the project, Caltrans will pave and rehabilitate about eight miles of westbound and eastbound I-80 between Vacaville and Dixon. It will include ramp and shoulder reconstruction along the busy I-80 corridor in northern Solano County.
Officials said the rehabilitation project will complete the final leg of the Pave 80 Project, which involved paving I-80 from the Bay Area to the Nevada-California state line
