Re "Buying now will beat tax increase" (Business, March 30): I considered buying a new pickup to replace my 14 year old truck. However, after considering the huge increase in licensing fees along with the sales tax I would pay, I decided to keep the old one.
My research also provide me with the realization that, in most cases, California makes more money on the sale of a new truck than the dealer. The state makes more than $4,000 on the sale of a $50,000 truck.
Gov. Jerry Brown: this is outrageous. You guys are out of control. Too many taxes, fees, and regulation by a poorly managed government.
