A woman was arrested Saturday afternoon after she bit an officer trying to intervene in a couple's argument, Sacramento police reported.
Officers responded to a 911 call from a home in the 4500 block of Breckenridge Way at about 2:30 p.m.
When they arrived, a child told officers her father was hitting her mother.
Officers arrested Pedro Pastrana, 33, on suspicion of domestic violence.
The woman was arrested for allegedly assaulting and biting a police officer. Police didn't release her name because she was initially an assault victim.
Police said a 4-year-old boy and 7-year-old girl at the home were taken into protective custody.
The officer was treated at a hospital and released.
