LOS ANGELES – USC hired Andy Enfield as its men's basketball coach after he took Florida Gulf Coast to the round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament.

Athletic director Pat Haden said Monday night that Enfield has reached an agreement to take over the Pacific-12 Conference program.

Haden said Enfield's success at FGCU wasn't a fluke and that his up-tempo style and stingy defense will be fun for both the Trojans players and fans.

The 43-year-old coach was 41-28 in his two seasons at the Fort Myers, Fla., school. He led the Eagles to a school-record 26 wins this season, including upsets of No. 2 seed Georgetown and No. 7 seed San Diego State as a 15th seed.

Enfield takes over from interim coach Bob Cantu, who had a 7-8 record after succeeding Kevin O'Neill, who was fired in mid-January.

Louisville – Guard Kevin Ware was walking on crutches the day after his two-hour surgery to repair his broken leg, and coach Rick Pitino said his player's spirits have been boosted by the outpouring of support from friends and fans.

• Sean McManus, the chairman of CBS Sports, said he had no regrets about banning further replays of Ware's gruesome broken leg.

Pacific-12 – Commissioner Larry Scott said coordinator of officials Ed Rush was joking when, according to a CBS Sports report, he offered a group of officials $5,000 or a trip to Cancun if they hit Arizona coach Sean Miller with a technical foul or ejected him during the Pac-12 tournament.

All-America team – Creighton's 6-foot-8 junior forward, Doug McDermott, was a repeat as an All-American. Trey Burke of Michigan and Otto Porter Jr. of Georgetown tied as the leading vote getters for the first team, which also included Indiana's Victor Oladipo and Gonzaga's Kelly Olynyk.

Hall of Fame – Coaches Gene Keady and Rollie Massimino, and former U.S. congressman Tom McMillen, headline the 2013 class to be inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame on Nov. 23 in Kansas City, Mo.

Joining them will be George Raveling of Nike, Bob Hopkins of Grambling, George Killian of FIBA and the 1963 national champion Loyola University of Chicago team.

Texas Tech – Fired Minnesota coach Tubby Smith was hired by the Red Raiders as their fourth coach in as many years.

Interim coach Chris Walker went 11-20 this season as Texas Tech tried to recover from Billy Gillispie's volatile one-year tenure, which ended when he resigned in September.

Kentucky – Archie Goodwin is leaving school early for the NBA draft, while Willie Cauley-Stein and Kyle Wiltjer will be back next season, coach John Calipari said.
