The weather today and Wednesday is expected to be dry and mild - similar to much of 2013 so far.
The National Weather Service notes that fall and early winter 2012 started with a bang. Northern California received almost 200 percent of the normal precipitation from October through December.
But then rainfall tapered off. Only a good soaker on the last day of March kept downtown Sacramento from having the driest January-through-March on record, according to the weather service.
The first three months ended up being fifth driest on record for Sacramento.
Driest first three months in NWS recorded history:
1976 - 2.47 inches
1972 - 2.59
1885 - 2.73
1923 - 2.78
2013 - 2.91
1932 - 2.97
1929 - 3.10
1984 - 3.22
