Light-rail service has resumed following a morning derailment in downtown Sacramento on Regional Transit's Gold Line.
Service was disrupted for several hours due to a train malfunction that affected an overhead power line.
About 7:45 a.m., one section of a Gold Line light-rail car of a train traveling between 13th and 14th street derailed, causing damage to the overhead electrical power source for the train. The train was inbound from Sunrise to downtown. No one was injured in the incident.
Regional Transit spokeswoman Alane Masui said service resumed at 2:20 p.m. Buses were used to transport passengers following the derailment.
