Now: The junior outfielder has started all 29 games for Liberty, an NCAA Division I program in Lynchburg, Va. He is batting .265. He is second on the team with 23 RBIs and leads the Flames with three home runs.

Then: In 2010, he was a second-team All-Metro selection for the Lions, who reached the Sac-Joaquin Section Division VII final. He batted a team-high .578 with 50 RBIs and a state-best 14 home runs. He also led his team in doubles (nine) and triples (six) and stolen bases (11). He struck out only three times in 100 plate appearances. As a pitcher, he was 10-2 with a 1.21 ERA and 117 strikeouts.
