Kiehl's, the New York-based skin- and hair-care products retailer, will open its first area store next week at Arden Fair mall in Sacramento.
A "soft" opening is set for Tuesday, and the store will host grand-opening festivities from 1 to 3 p.m. on April 19.
The chain's stores also are known as Kiehl's Since 1851 outlets, a shout-out to the company's beginnings as an old-world apothecary in New York City's East Village neighborhood 162 years ago.
Store hours at 1689 Arden Way will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Kiehl's also is known for using natural, sustainable materials in its stores. On-site recycling also is encouraged.
Kiehl's was purchased by the L'Oréal Group in 2000 and has more than 30 free-standing retail stores. Kiehl's products also are sold in various department stores.
