Wedding anniversaries from April 7-13:

April 7, 2003: Actor Russell Crowe and Singer Danielle Spencer, Nana Glen, Australia. The bride wore a lace Armani gown. The groom wore Armani as well. The couple married on Crowe's 39th birthday during a three-day celebration at his 560-acre cattle farm in Australia. They divorced in 2012.

April 8, 2000: Football star Troy Aikman and Publicist Rhonda Worthey, Plano, Texas. The wedding ceremony was an intimate gathering of the couple's family and close friends, and a larger group was invited to the reception. Many members of the Dallas Cowboys organization attended, including Daryl Johnston, Bill Bates, Emmitt Smith, Mark Stepnoski, Kevin Gogan, special teams coach Joe Avezzano. The couple has two children together and announced their separation in 2011.

April 9, 1994: Las Vegas entertainer Wayne Newton and lawyer Kathleen McCrone, Las Vegas, Nev. The couple met at one of Newton's performances. At their wedding, the bridesmaids wore black to the disapproval of some critics. This was Newton's second marriage. They have one daughter together.

April 9, 1966: Actress Sophia Loren and Producer Carlo Ponti in Sevres, France. Loren and Ponti met in 1950 when she was just 16 years old. He, then 37, was a judge in the "Miss Roma" contest, where she placed second. Within a short time, he became her manager and proposed in 1954. The couple was married by the Mayor of Sevres in a civil ceremony in the city hall.

April 11, 1981: Rocker Eddie Van Halen and Actress Valerie Bertinelli. The two met in 1980 when Bertinelli went backstage after a Van Halen concert in Shreveport, La. The wedding guest list included 450 friends and family members. The couple divorced in 2007.

April 12, 2001: Singer Gladys Knight and William McDowell, California. This was Knight's fourth marriage. The wedding was a well-kept secret, with Knight's publicist only learning about the ceremony until the very day of the wedding.

April 13, 2002: Actor Benjamin Bratt and Actress and model Talisa Soto, San Francisco, Calif.

Twenty guests attended the couple's ceremony overlooking the ocean. Bratt wore a black Calvin Klein suit and Soto, pregnant at the time, wore a satin chiffon dress. Soto's mother walked her down the aisle and Bratt's mother officiated the ceremony as well as arranged the bouquet of white roses.
