The Washington Redskins have re-signed cornerback DeAngelo Hall, who was released before the start of free agency last month.
Washington also made it official with backup quarterback Rex Grossman and added another quarterback in Pat White.
Hall's release allowed the Redskins to trim $8 million off the salary cap for 2013. Terms of the new deal were not disclosed.
The 29-year-old Virginia Tech product has spent the last 4 1/2 seasons with the Redskins and last year registered 95 tackles with four interceptions. He originally signed with Washington in November 2008 after being released by Oakland just eight games into a seven-year contract he signed the previous offseason.
In 133 career NFL games with Washington (2008-2012), Oakland (2008) and Atlanta (2004-2007), Hall has 639 tackles and 39 interceptions. He has 19 picks and 363 tackles in 68 games with the Redskins.
Grossman is back with a reported one-year contract. He was the third-string quarterback last year and did not see action behind rookies Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins.
The 32-year-old Florida product started 13 games for the Redskins in 2011 and passed for 3,151 yards and 16 touchdowns with 20 interceptions.
In 10 seasons with Chicago, Houston and Washington, Grossman has a 55.2 percent completion percentage and has thrown for 10,232 yards and 56 touchdowns with 60 interceptions.
Grossman was the starting quarterback when the Bears reached Super Bowl XLI after the 2006 season.
White, a mobile quarterback in the mode of Griffin, was selected by Miami in the second round of the 2009 draft and played in 13 games for the Dolphins that season.
