    The man who helped shape film criticism as we know it, Gene Siskel (Pictured left), died yesterday (Saturday, February 20) at the age of 53 in Chicago, Illinois. Siskel died of complications resulting from his May, 1998, brain surgery. Along with longtime partner Roger Ebert (Pictured right), Siskel is best known for the syndicated show "Siskel & Ebert." He had recently taken a leave of absence from his many professional duties, which also included acting as longtime film critic for the Chicago Tribune, film critic for "CBS This Morning" and local Chicago television station WBBM, and columnist for TV Guide. Siskel is survived by his wife, Marlene, and three children.
