Workers are putting the finishing touches on the Stanley Mosk Library and Courts Building at 914 Capitol Mall, a $49.7 million renovation project. Construction began in January 2011. The Department of General Services says the work came in below the original $65.5 million projection. This weekend, the 3rd District Court of Appeal is moving back into the building. It is also home to the California State Library and some sessions of the state Supreme Court. The 1928 building received fire, safety and security system upgrades and is LEED certified for saving energy, and conserving water inside and outside.
