Re "Obama undermines effort to reform immigration policy" (Viewpoints, April 5):
Suppose, just suppose, that every single employer in the United States refused to hire non-citizens without a "green card" (which makes them eligible to legally live and work here.)
What would happen to illegal immigration then? Presumably, it would shrink to almost nothing.
So... Why, doesn't Charles Krauthammer rant against the thousands of employers (mostly corporations and small businesses (from massive chicken processors to small fast-food restaurants) that draw those illegals across our borders with the easy prospect of illegal employment?
Well... because his ideology requires that he blame Obama, but never employers, who are "job creators," even if the jobs they create are for illegal immigrants). Apparently in Krauthammer's view those illegal employers are the "good guys," while Obama necessarily must be the bad guy.
So... who is REALLY undermining the control of our borders?
