Game highlights: Collin McHugh allowed one run over 5 1/3 innings, and Josh Satin hit a two-run homer to lead the Las Vegas 51s past the River Cats 6-1 at Raley Field on Saturday.

Uncharted territory: The River Cats suffered their third straight loss, a franchise record to start the season.

Cats moves: Pitcher Dan Otero was designated for assignment, catcher David Freitas and pitcher Nate Long were sent to Double-A Midland, first baseman Daric Barton was added from the A's, and catcher Stephen Vogt joined the team after being acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays.

Peterson back: Shane Peterson left Thursday's game and joined the A's in Houston. However, he wasn't activated and flew back to Sacramento. He had gone to Houston in case A's first baseman Brandon Moss went on paternity leave.

Today: River Cats RHP Sonny Gray (0-0, 0.00 ERA) vs. Las Vegas 51s RHP Carlos Torres (0-0, 0.00), 1:05 p.m., Raley Field.
