Re "Keep guns out of schools" and "Senators need backbones" (Letters, April 6): The two comments from letter writers on the subject of guns in general and the National Rifle Association in particular are as equally asinine as they are uninformed.
These two citizens apparently believe that responsible decision making involving funs is best resolved through exercising unchecked emotion and liberal anti-gun hysteria.
In reality, all they have to do is acknowledge recent 20th Century history. "Gun control works." Just ask Hitler's Nazis, Mussolini's Fascists or Stalin's Communists. Now those guys really understood the key to people control, all you have to do is disarm the population under the guise of safety for the greater good of the country. Which is what they did, and I think we all know how that turned out, huh? Understand now?
