Major railroad track repairs in Elk Grove will close a section of Franklin Boulevard next week, said city officials.

Franklin Boulevard between Bilby Road and Willard Parkway will be closed from 6 a.m. April 16 through 6 p.m. April 19. If the project is not complete, the road will remain closed until work is finished.

Union Pacific Railroad and Elk Grove's Public Works Department will perform maintenance on the railroad crossing at Franklin Boulevard just southwest of Willard Parkway.

Northbound motorists on Franklin Boulevard will be directed east on Bilby Road to Willard Parkway. Southbound motorists will be detoured to Willard Parkway from the intersection of Whitelock Parkway and Franklin Boulevard to Bilby Road.

For more information about the road closures and detours, contact the public works department at (916) 687-3005. For more information on Union Pacific track maintenance, contact Liisa Lawson Stark at (916) 789-5957.
