Kudos to: Lynn Stevens, co-founder of the Sacramento Children's Chorus

Accomplishment: Twenty years of distinguished work with the chorus

Details: The children's chorus marks its 20th anniversary with a concert April 21 at the Crest Theatre. The group originally consisted of one choir with 40 singers. It now comprises five choirs with more than 150 singers. Stevens is the artistic director, conductor and co-founder.

Kudos to: Ethan and Grant Webster, Rio Americano High School students

Accomplishment: The Websters are top-10 finalists in the Toyota Teen Driver video contest

Details: They're finalists from among hundreds of entrants for their video reminding teens to avoid distractions while driving. The teen with the most votes for his or her video gets to work with a Discovery film crew to reshoot the video as a professional-quality public service announcement for television. Kudos to: Wilhelmina "Willie" Wilson and the students of Twin Lakes Elementary in Orangevale

Accomplishment: Twenty-five years of the Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser at the school

Details: Each year students learn about heart health and participate in the 90-minute rope jumping activity, which raises pledged money for the American Heart Association. Physical education teacher Wilson started Jump Rope for Heart at Twin Lakes, where it usually raises about $11,000.
