Sacramento firefighters made quick work of a midmorning fire Monday at the Zinfandel Grille on Fair Oaks Boulevard near Howe Avenue.

The fire, first reported at 10:28 a.m., was contained to the wood shingle roof and did not damage the interior of the restaurant, said Michael Lozano, battalion chief for Sacramento Metro Fire.

Because a commercial structure was involved, five engines were dispatched, Lozano said. By noon, firefighters were mopping up the scene.
