Elk Grove High School's Future Farmers of America will host the second day of a two-day livestock show and open house today.

The annual event, held at the barns at the high school at 9800 Elk Grove-Florin Road, gives students the opportunity to practice their showmanship skills in the judging ring before the summer fair season, according to a news release from the Elk Grove Unified School District.

Friday's events featured students showing rabbits, goats and sheep. Today's events, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., will feature swine and beef.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the Elk Grove High FFA program. Vegetables, plants and flowers from the student-run FFA garden also will be sold, as will food and drink.
