Poet Troy Jollimore has received a Guggenheim fellowship for 2013.
Jollimore, a philosophy professor at California State University, Chico, since 2000, was one of 175 scholars, artists and scientists to be named as 2013 fellows, according to the New York-based John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, which has funded the fellowships for 89 years.
The fellows are chosen on the basis of experience and "exceptional promise," according to the foundation.

Jollimore is the winner of the 2007 National Book Critics Circle Award for Poetry for "Tom Thomson in Purgatory" and received CSU Chico's Outstanding Professor Award in 2010, according to Chico State news release.
His fellowship will support work on a third book of poems and other writing projects.
