River Cats complete sweep of Reno in snow

• Sweep on road: The River Cats completed a sweep of a four-game series in Reno with a 7-3 win on a snowy Monday night.

• Chavez delivers: After averaging nearly 18 runs in the first three games of the series, the River Cats rode the arm of starter Jesse Chavez to their fifth consecutive victory. Chavez (1-1, 2.45 ERA) struck out nine and walked none.

• Choice goes deep again: Michael Choice hit an opposite-field home run a day after hitting two balls out to right field. Choice has four homers this season.

• Super sub: Josh Horton had two hits and drove in a run. He started at shortstop with Jemile Weeks getting the night off.

• December in April: The game was delayed in the middle of the eighth inning because of low visibility during a snowstorm.

• Today: River Cats RHP Dan Straily (1-0, 1.59 ERA) vs. Las Vegas RHP Collin McHugh (2-0, 0.73), Cashman Field in Las Vegas, 7:05 p.m.
