Re "Agency tightens dog rules" (Page A8, April 18): When I hear about the Wildlife Services use of dogs to "control" wildlife, the first thing I think of is the Roman Coliseum. This is where the Romans watched animals and humans brutalizing each other for the sake of entertainment.
The story of agency employee Jamie Olsen smacks as someone who enjoys using dogs to torment and kill, just as the Romans did with dogs and other animals thousands of years ago. It's horrible for the dogs, not mention the victim, and enables the monster in the human being as opposed to his mercy.
Jamie Olsen needs to be fired and Wildlife Services needs to be cleaned out and reshaped to express the will of the American taxpayer, which is to care for the animals and their habitats, not destroy them.
