A weed control project that had been scheduled this week at Cronan Ranch and Greenwood Creek in El Dorado County has been postponed due to windy weather.
The federal Bureau of Land Management announced that the work has been rescheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, weather permitting.
These recreation areas, near the south fork of the American River, will be closed to the public on those dates when herbicides will be applied for invasive weed control.
Authorities said a notice of intent to apply herbicides will be posted on signs at the trailhead at least 24 hours before application and closure signs will be posted during the application.
Broadcast and spot herbicide applications are planned along the approximately 14 miles of trail edges to reduce weeds and make trails more accessible for recreational use, according to a BLM news release.
