Former Lassen County Administrative Officer Tom Stone will have to wait until April 30 for a judge to hear his $1 million wrongful termination lawsuit.
On Thursday, Lassen Superior Court Judge Tony Mallery disqualified himself from presiding over the civil lawsuit, which names three Lassen County supervisors.
Instead of Mallery, who was scheduled to hear the county's legal objection to Stone's claims, Judge Anders Holmer will hear the case.
Stone, who served as the county's administrative officer for seven months ending in July 2011, claims supervisors fired him because he protested the county's violation of state and federal laws regarding the use of designated federal funds.
He was terminated in a dispute over the interpretation of his contract, including medical and educational benefits.
Stone named as defendants the three supervisors who voted to fire him: Jim Chapman, Jack Hanson and Bob Pyle, all currently serving as supervisors.
