Regional digest: Sacramento State shuts out Saint Mary's

Zach Morgan pitched eight shutout innings Tuesday as host Sacramento State beat Saint Mary's 3-0, according to the Saint Mary's athletics website.

Morgan allowed four hits. Freshman Sutter McLoughlin (Rio Americano High School) worked the ninth inning for his 10th save.

The Hornets (23-17) scored once in the second when Will Soto (Elk Grove High School) tripled and Rhys Hoskins (Jesuit High School) brought him in with a sacrifice fly.

Sacramento State added two runs in the fifth on RBI singles by David Del Grande and Nathan Lukes (Center High School).

The Gaels (14-26) had a three-game winning streak stopped.

• UC Davis had a four-game winning streak halted with a 10-inning, 7-6 loss to host Santa Clara, according to the UCD athletics website.

Casey Munoz's run-scoring double in the 10th won it for the Broncos (10-28).

The Aggies rallied in the seventh with two runs to tie the score 6-6.

Steven Patterson had three hits and an RBI, and Austin March drove in two runs for UC Davis (15-23).
