Re "Stern sees NBA decision May 13" (Our Region, April 26): Coverage of the potential relocation of the Kings has been beyond frustrating. While uninformative random comments are repeated almost on a daily basis as we await the NBA's decision, readers have not been provided with basic and determinative information.
For example, what are the factors the relocation committee is or is supposed to be studying? What are the rules that guide the Board of Governors decision? What kinds of things have justified past moves? For example, has a team with such strong community/ fan support ever been moved and if so, why? Finally, where are the stories about those who will lose jobs or businesses if the team is moved?
The NBA needs to be confronted with this harsh reality before making its decision-- not afterwards. I am not a basketball fan, but an issue this important to the health of the community deserves better reporting.
