Re "Perry weighs in on Ohman" and "The Bee's response" (Letters, April 27): Thanks for the cartoon regarding the West Texas explosion. Too much of our media has given short coverage to this disaster to obsess repeatedly over the Boston Marathon bombing.
Industrial accidents are far too common, particularly when merely competent regulatory oversight can prevent such occurrences. The Rick Perry tantrum is just another example among many of his defective sense of proportion. Nobody is gleeful at the loss of life and destruction of property in West, Texas, but we cannot ignore the misfeasance of our elected officials.
