Re "Perry weighs in on Ohman" and "The Bee's response" (Letters, April 27): Thank you for publishing Jack Ohman's cartoon of Gov. Rick Perry and the West, Texas, fertilizer plant explosion. It is in no way offensive, and it is entirely appropriate.
Perry should be ashamed of himself for continuing to quash any attempt at regulating conditions to improve worker safety -- all in the name of being business-friendly. He has put the health and safety of Texas residents and workers aside in favor of corporate interests, and it's heartening to see him exposed for it. If the rules change in Texas to make it safer for the people who live and work here, then the lives of the 14 lost in West will not have been lost in vain.
