River Cats at a glance: Homers by Taylor, Weeks fuel four-game sweep

• Game highlights: Michael Taylor hit a three-run homer and Jemile Weeks hit two-run shot to lift the River Cats past the Salt Lake Bees 7-2 Sunday at Raley Field.

• Record tied: River Cats first baseman Daric Barton is now tied with Esteban German (2001-04) for the all-time franchise lead in runs with 231.

• Bright spot: In 12 2/3 innings of shutout relief, right-hander Dan Otero has notched six saves and been the go-to reliever in a faulty Cats bullpen.

• Straily scratched: Bruce Billings started in place of Dan Straily, who's scheduled to start tonight for the A's. Billings pitched six innings and allowed one run.

• Score it 9-3: In the fourth inning, the Bees' Bill Hall slammed a one-hopper into right field, and Taylor threw him out at first base.

• Get out the broom: The River Cats' four-game sweep of the Bees was the 53rd series sweep in franchise history.

• Magic number is … : In 24 games this season, the River Cats are 10-2 when scoring six or more runs and 3-9 when scoring fewer than six.

• Choice is AAA-OK: In his first Triple-A season, River Cats center fielder Michael Choice has hit safely in 18 of 22 games and reached base in 21 of those games.
