Noncitizens on juries would owe allegiance to foreign governments

Re "Assembly backs bill allowing noncitizens on juries" (Capitol & California, April 26): If my life, liberty or property are at risk, I want my fate decided by American citizens, not by people who owe allegiance to a foreign government.

The proponents of the dreadful bill to allow noncitizens to be jurors ask why jurors need to be citizens when judges do not. Assuming the premise that underlies the questions is true, a better reform would be to extend the citizenship requirement to judges as well as jurors.
