Re "Kings likely to stay put" (Page A1, April 30): Absent from the reports is any discussion of possible cost to taxpayers. I posed that question in a letter to the mayor's office and was told that negotiations were still ongoing."
Does that mean Sacramento taxpayers may have a nasty surprise coming? Does the city plan to make further cutbacks to schools, parks, police and fire to build a new fancy arena?
If this is all going to be done with private funds great, but public funds should not go for private ventures.
