One person died and another was arrested following a crash Tuesday afternoon on Pleasant Grove Boulevard.
At 3:41 p.m., officers responded to a collision on eastbound Pleasant Grove Boulevard between Pioneer Road and Roseville Parkway.
Police said preliminary information from officers at the scene indicateed that a vehicle had been moving erratically on Pleasant Grove Boulevard from Washington Boulevard eastbound, until it struck another eastbound vehicle that was stopped for a red light at Roseville Parkway, setting off a chain-reaction collision involving five or six vehicles.
Four people were transported to the hospital, and one, a 69-year-old man who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, died, said Police Department spokeswoman Dee Dee Gunther. She said the man's wife was seriously injured. One other person also was seriously injured and another complained of pain. Gunther said the driver of the vehicle that started the chain reaction was not injured and has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
