The weekly farmers market at Cesar Chavez Plaza at 10th and J streets in front of Sacramento's City Hall opened for business Wednesday with farm-to-fork vendors offering certified locally grown vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers for sale.

The open-air market also includes special events for children, cooking demonstrations and music by local singers and bands.

It takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Wednesday through October.
