Re "Shutting down Guantanamo is long overdue" (Editorials, May 2): There is no excuse for the government's inability to deal with the closing or relocating of Guantanamo Bay. Inhumane torture practices have been linked to this detention camp. It is a complete violation of our Constitution and everything we stand for.
By allowing these practices to continue, we are giving up the core principles that this country was founded on. It is a slippery slope. If we allow practices like this, how are we any better then our enemies? Two wrongs do not make a right. What goes on in Guantanamo Bay is not justice. The Constitution is being violated at a heavy price, for nothing.
