Memorial services are scheduled for this morning at Beale Air Force Base for four airman killed in a crash in Afghanistan late last month.
Two of the airmen were assigned to Beale. The aircraft that crashed, an MC-12 Liberty, was deployed from Beale.
Staff Sgt. Richard A. Dickson, 24, of Rancho Cordova, was assigned to the 306th Intelligence Squadron. He was killed April 27 along with fellow Beale airman, Capt. Reid K. Nishizuka, 30, of Kailua, Hawaii, who was assigned to the 427th Reconnaissance Squadron. Both airmen were deployed as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
The crash of the MC-12 Liberty remains under investigation. NATO reported no apparent enemy activity at the time of the crash near Kandahar Air Field in Afghanistan.
Also killed were Capt. Brandon Cyr of Virginia and Staff Sgt. Daniel Fannin of Kentucky.
The general public was not invited to the base memorial services scheduled for 9 a.m. today.
