Area gasoline prices, which have been slowly falling in recent weeks, stayed locked in place last week.
The average retail price of gasoline in the Sacramento area was unchanged from the previous week, coming in at $3.80 a gallon, according to national price tracker GasBuddy.com, which surveys 720 stations in the area.
Sacramento prices are now 29.5 cents lower than they were a year ago and 7.6 cents lower than a month ago.
Nationally, the average price of gas rose a penny to an average of $3.51 a gallon down 7.8 cents from last month and a decrease of 26.8 cents from a year ago.
"Oil prices have rebounded, and with the recent strength in stocks trickling over to commodities, I do expect retail gasoline prices to inch up in the weeks ahead," said Patrick DeHaan, a senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy. "The biggest increases will be along the West Coast, where gasoline supply remains at an ultra-tight status."
