Baked Bree's recipe for mango with basil sugar salt
I bought these gorgeous Ataulfo mangoes at Whole Foods, and they are in season from March to June. This variety of mango is one of the sweetest varieties, perfect for baking, smoothies, margaritas or made into a popsicle. I got the idea for the basil sugar-salt from the Simple Things magazine. They put their basil sugar-salt over pineapple (which would also be divine) but I immediately thought that it would be perfect over mangoes, and I was right.

Sacramento Vegan wraps up SactoMoFo 6
I arrived at SactoMoFo 6, the mobile food truck festival under the freeway at Sixth and W, just as it opened on Saturday My first stop was Addy's Paella, a Lodi-based catering business, to try their vegetarian paella. I knew they were only going to offer two pans of vegetarian paella throughout the day, and I didn't want to miss out. If I'd known how big the paella pans were, I wouldn't have worried! In addition to the seasoned rice, the vegetarian paella included asparagus, mushrooms, red bell pepper, green onions, and peas, and it was very tasty. It's vegan as long as you don't let them add the garlic aioli on top.

Stealth Cooking makes salmon quesadillas
Here's a quick dinner, ideal for those nights when there's not much time to spend in the kitchen. We had salmon the other night (grilled salmon is another meal that's quick, especially when my nice husband does the grilling), so I used leftover salmon in these quesadillas. Canned salmon would work equally well.
