A four-run rally in the eighth inning lifted the Sacramento State baseball team to a 4-3 victory over host UC Davis on Tuesday, Sac State reported.

The win gave the Hornets (30-19) back-to-back 30-victory seasons for the first time since 1992-93 and a three-game season sweep of the Aggies (16-30).

Sac State erased a 3-0 deficit in the eighth. After Nathan Lukes' RBI single, Chris Lewis doubled in two runs. Lewis scored the tiebreaking run on Will Soto's chopper to first, beating the throw home with a slide.

The Hornets' Brandon Creel picked up the win with two shutout innings in relief. Freshman Sutter McLoughlin allowed two singles in the ninth but worked out of the jam for his 15th save.
