Now: The senior right-hander has made a career-high 27 relief appearances for the Hornets (30-19). He is 7-3 with a 2.70 ERA. He has struck out 26 batters in 46 2/3 innings. He has one save. He has made a program-best 85 career appearances.
Then: He was a first-team All-Metro selection in 2009 and was a big reason Rosemont won its first baseball title as the Wolverines (18-9) were 14-0 in Metro Conference play. Creel was 8-0 as a starter with a 0.38 ERA. He struck out 69 batters and walked five in 55 1/3 innings. Creel batted .424 with 20 RBIs and a team-high four home runs. He was hit by a pitch a team-high 15 times and had a .548 on-base percentage.
