A panel of experts on Wednesday will discuss Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson's goals of making the area a "farm-to-fork" capital and the agriculture industry's impact as a regional economic driver.
The open-to-the-public luncheon program - entitled "Perspectives on Agriculture - The Intersection of Mayor Johnson's Year of Food and Our Region's Ag Economy" - will run from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento, 1209 L St.
Besides Johnson, panel participants will include Bryce Lundberg, vice president of agriculture for Lundberg Family Farms; Mark Jansen, CEO of Blue Diamond Growers; Tim Johnson, president and CEO of the California Rice Commission; Patrick Mulvaney, owner of Mulvaney's B&L restaurant in Sacramento; and Pamela Marrone, CEO and founder of Marrone Bio Innovations in Davis.
