Leitao (8-2) allowed five hits in eight innings as the Hornets (31-19, 13-9) won for the seventh time in eight games, Sac State reported on its athletics website.
Chris Lewis and former Elk Grove High School standout Will Soto each had two hits with an RBI for the Hornets. Nathan Lukes (Center) and David Del Grande also had two hits. Andrew Ayers singled in a run.
Sutter McLoughlin (Rio Americano) retired San Jose State (14-34, 8-14) in order in the ninth for his 16th save.
UC Davis scored two unearned runs in the ninth to back a complete game by Harry Stanwyck in a 2-0 Big West Conference win over host Pacific (12-32, 4-15), UCD reported on its athletics website.

Sac State ousted from Big Sky softball event
A four-run sixth-inning rally wasn't enough for Sac State, which was eliminated from the Big Sky Conference softball tournament in Pocatello, Idaho, with a 5-4, second-round loss to Southern Utah (17-33).

UC Davis' Sarah Sumpter and Katie Fry each won individual titles at the Big West Conference track and field championships in North-ridge, the school reported on its athletics website. Sumpter repeated as champion in the 10,000 meters. Fry was first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Sac State women's varsity eight won its heat during the first day of the Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, the school reported. The Hornets advanced to today's semifinals.
