Cats glance: Gray finds pitching close to home to his liking

Highlight: Pitching near his hometown of Smyrna, Tenn., Sonny Gray threw six shutout innings as the River Cats beat the Nashville Sounds 5-2, He allowed three hits and struck out eight.

More Gray: Gray allowed one earned run or fewer for the third straight start. Over that span, he has given up just two earned runs in 21 innings, an 0.86 ERA.

Choice connects: Michael Choice broke an 0-for-18 slump in the fourth with a two-run homer, his seventh this season. He singled in a run in the ninth for his team-leading 30th RBI.

Moore hits his stride: Scott Moore had three of the River Cats' 12 hits, his fifth multihit performance in his last 13 games.
