Contract talks continue with choice for Twin Rivers post

Contract negotiations continue between a consulting company hired by the Twin Rivers Unified School District and Steve Martinez, whom the board selected to be the next superintendent, according to district officials.

The school board was expected to finalize the contract at Thursday night's meeting but instead came out of a closed session on the matter to announce that the negotiations are ongoing.

Martinez is an assistant superintendent at the Fresno Unified School District. He has been a principal, assistant principal, coach and science and math teacher in his 12 years in education, according to his résumé. He has a doctorate in educational leadership from California State University, Fresno.
