The delta breeze has started up, bringing slightly cooler temperatures before the advent of a more noticeable end-of-the-week cool down.
After a high of 93 on Mother's Day, a low pressure system is delivering the cooler weather with an onshore flow from the Pacific Ocean into the Central Valley.
Today's high is expected to be in the high 80s. However, the National Weather Service forecasts a more dramatic change Thursday and Friday with the Sacramento region's daily maximum high temperatures only reaching the high 70s and low 80s.
The normal for this time of year is around 80 degrees.
