Game highlight: The River Cats shut out the Nashville Sounds 9-0 Tuesday to complete their third four-game sweep of the season.

On target: River Cats starter Justin Thomas (2-2) was nearly unhittable, holding Nashville to two walks and three hits in six shutout innings with four strikeouts for his second win of the year.

The base clearer: Jeremy Barfield finished 2 for 4 with five RBIs and his second home run as a River Cat.

Hiro watch: Hiro Nakajima went 1 for 5 with a run and is now hitting .241 in seven games since beginning his rehab assignment with the River Cats.

Hotter than hot: Michael Choice went 2 for 4 with two runs scored, giving him his fourth straight two-hit game and raising his batting average to .300.

A look ahead: The River Cats are off today before they begin an eight-game homestand Thursday at Raley Field when RHP Sonny Gray (4-1, 2.19 ERA) takes on Oklahoma City RedHawks LHP Brett Oberholtzer (2-3, 6.08 ERA) in a 7:05 p.m. game.
